Doing something great..

Lance Armstrong in his Biography - Every second counts - writes:

If you surveyed all the greatly successful people in this world, some would be charismatic, some would be not, some would be tall, some would be short, some would be fat, some would be thin. Ironie is wreed. Ek ry vandag vir die tweede keer van die lughawe af weg met 'n stukkende hart - ek het die twee mense naaste aan my hart vandag afgelaai. Ironies dat hulle beide vandag weggaan vir onderskeidelik 5 en 10 dae en albei gaan Kaap toe. Hulle vlugte enkele ure uitmekaar.
Ek gaan vir 'n wyle in stilte leef. Nie een van hulle weet hoe lief ek hulle regtig het nie.

Reminiscing

I recently got all my notebooks together in which I have been writing down poems and quotes and things that have made a difference in my life.

One of the notes that I love came from a friend that I met while at Varsity.
It was October 1992 and he was Johan van Rensburg. If I recall correctly he stayed in Hartswater in a house that had speakers in every single room. He loved music and I have recollections of Pink Floyd playing over the speaker in the loo. :-)


He had a saying that I kept and today it has a whole new meaning looking back on my life.
